Rehabilitative Exercise.
Why do we emphasize exercise?
At the Movement Physio & Performance we believe that exercise is important for the majority of physiotherapy clients we see. We emphasize it because it is a tool that is both proven to help with painful conditions but also benefits overall health and athletic performance. Our aim is for you to feel confident about your body and to have the tools to perform well in the activities that you love.
How do we use exercise?
We use exercise on an individual basis dependent on your specific circumstances. Our aim is to help you use exercise to take control of your pain and perform at a high level. Exercise is a stress and we want to help you take advantage of your bodies ability to adapt to stress and become more robust. Whenever possible, we try to help you modify your training/activities before suggesting that you stop.
How do you make sure I understand the program outside of the clinic?
Since exercise programming is so important to our philosophy and treatment plans at The Movement Physio, we use TrueCoach to ensure the plan is easy to follow and communicate. TrueCoach allows us to program your training/accessory routines as well as provide custom videos for you to follow. As a bonus, TrueCoach allows you to comment on each workout/exercise as well as communicate through a messaging platform so that we can ensure things are going as planned and help keep you accountable.

FAQs
What equipment do you have for exercising?
In our gym space we have 2 squat racks, dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, turf, rubberized flooring, a spin bike, treadmill, therabands, and more in a 1000sqft! We want to make sure we have what you need so we can tailor your program specifically to you.
Will exercise be good for my injury?
We believe that movement is medicine and so dosage matters when it comes to pain and injury. That means, what is good for one situation may not be good for another. We need to assess your individual circumstances to decide what might be appropriate, and we aren’t afraid to make adjustments when necessary. However, most of the time movement and exercise is more beneficial than complete rest.
