THE MOVEMENT VIRTUAL PHYSIOTHERAPY
Return to the activities you love from the comfort of your home.
How does virtual physiotherapy work?
Through a secure video conferencing software with a linked exercise database, we assess your situation, provide individualized education, custom exercise program progressions, and guide you to achieving your goals.
Set up in a quiet room
About a 10 by 10 feet of space, with limited distraction allows for the best environment to discuss over our secure video software accessed by a computer, tablet or smartphone.
Gather any useful equipment
Lots can be accomplished with objects that you have around the house such as a step stool, your stairway, a backpack full of books or a re-usable grocery bag with canned goods inside.
Click on the link to join
Once you book an appointment, an email will be sent to you with a few forms to fill out and then a link to join our session. Now we are ready to start moving towards your goals.

Effective. Convenient. Safe.
Using virtual physiotherapy we use a detailed discussion and movement exam to:
Rule out red flags
One of the most important aspects of assessing an injury is asking specific questions to rule out things that could potentially be more medically serious.
Provide a diagnosis
An accurate diagnosis is important because it allows us to more effectively determine the direction of the rehab process.
Discover the root causes
Beyond just a diagnosis, it is important to develop a clear understanding of all of the factors contributing to your issue.
Guide your pain management
Although we can’t use manual therapies to help relieve symptoms like we could in clinic, many of these techniques can be performed at home. Pain management can also be achieved through a clear understanding of your diagnosis, the root cause and the triggers for your symptoms.
Help you understand your problem
There is plenty of time during our virtual PT assessments and treatments to discuss all facets of your issue, we believe that it is necessary for you to understand your situation so that you can push your body appropriately and enjoy the activities that drive you.
Come up with a plan to reach your goals
It is important to have a plan so that you can make a stepwise return to the activities that drive you. Through virtual PT, we jointly develop a comprehensive plan emphasizing a detailed exercise plan so that you can clearly see how you’re going to get there.
Research has demonstrated that telerehabilitation (virtual PT) produces similar outcomes to face-to-face treatments.
Virtual Physiotherapy
FAQs
What do I need to do virtual PT?
Virtual PT is very similar to coming in to a clinic. However, we recommend a room about 10 by 10 and a quiet and private environment. Further, you’ll need some form of identification for yourself and anybody else who might be involved. Aside from this, wear clothes you can move in, use a yoga mat if you have one and have any equipment nearby that might come in handy. We frequently use chairs, step-stool, weights, bands, etc during our sessions depending on what you have.
Will my insurance cover virtual PT?
Given the circumstances, most insurance companies are accepting virtual PT claims as a physiotherapy service and will reimburse you for virtual PT (depending on your coverage). However, it is best to check with your insurance directly to ask them whether or not they cover virtual PT.
How does it work if you can’t be hands on?
We don’t discount the value of manual assessment and treatment. However, this is only a small portion of the value that physiotherapy offers. During our sessions, we emphasize education and advice to empower you to manage your issue. This is because at our core, we believe that the more knowledgeable you are about your situation, the easier it will be for you to properly care for your body and achieve your goals. Further, we can still utilize movement evaluations and exercise programs tailored to you. These are foundational to physiotherapy treatment, and research backs this up!
Shouldn’t I just wait until I can see you in person?
The fact is, we aren’t sure how long this is going to last and we don’t think it’s worth waiting to get the help you need. Oftentimes, the longer we let things linger the more complex the issue becomes. We always recommend seeing a physiotherapist early, that way we can guide you in the right direction.
